The drinking diet is one of the most effective but also most controversial techniques for weight loss. The purpose of the diet is not only to reduce weight, but also to cleanse the body and reduce the volume of the stomach.

Rules for the drinking diet

In keeping with its name, the drinking diet includes completely avoiding solid food for a whole month. With a proper diet, you should not feel severe hunger, since the amount of food and the number of calories the body needs to live are not limited by the rules.

What is the essence of a drinking diet? Everything is very simple. All solid products are replaced by liquid products. You can drink as much as you want, or rather as much as you need to satisfy your hunger. Some rules should be clarified:

  • First of all, it is strictly forbidden to not only eat solid food while on a diet, but also to chew it. Chewing gum is recommended to be avoided, and there is a reason for that. After the drinking diet, the stomach is given 30 days of rest. And when chewing gum, the stomach reflexively triggers the same process of digesting food. Only in this case there is no food, which means that it begins to digest itself, which threatens with many acute diseases of the digestive system.
  • Second, in addition to the fluids that enter the body instead of food, it is imperative to drink 1. 5 to 2 liters of water per day. This amount of water speeds up the metabolism. In addition, water maintains excellent skin condition.
  • Third, you cannot follow a drinking diet for more than 30 days. Long-term adherence to this diet can lead not only to various diseases of the digestive system, but also to a decrease in the immunity of the entire body.

Effectiveness of a drinking diet

Because of its effectiveness, the diet has spread. The makers of the diet promise a weight loss of 10 to 15 kilograms per month!

However, doctors are very careful with this diet. They believe that such a long refusal of solid food has an extremely negative effect on the digestive system and breaks the normal work rhythm that has developed over millennia.

In addition, a drinking diet has many contraindications. If you have any chronic illness, be sure to consult your doctor before starting.

In order not to cause great damage to health, doctors recommend a drinking diet not for a long time, but as fasting days 1-2 days (not in a row! ) Per week.

Foods Allowed on a Drinking Diet

What foods should you be consuming? Unlike other diets, there is no set menu when it comes to drinking, which means that all foods that can be drunk but not chewed are allowed at each individual's discretion. And of course, during this diet, you should try to keep your food as varied as possible.

Usually the diet is based on the following products: dairy products and fermented milk (kefir, drinking yogurts, milk, fermented baked milk, milkshakes), juices and nectars, broths (meat, fish or vegetables), tea, coffee. It is advisable to eliminate or reduce your sugar intake.

However, not all drinkable foods are allowed on the diet. Alcohol is therefore strictly forbidden. It should be noted that alcohol is prohibited in almost all diets, as it contributes to the set of extra pounds, and not to their loss.

There are also disputes about some products. One of these products is smoothies. A smoothie is a fruit or vegetable cocktail. At the same time, smoothies of some products are liquid and very easy to drink, and some are very thick, almost like mashed potatoes. Hence the obvious rule: Liquid smoothies during a drinking diet can be consumed without restrictions, but thick smoothies should be avoided.

There are many smoothie recipes out there, each aimed at getting a specific set of vitamins. For the preparation you need the ingredients for the desired shake and a mixer. The smoothie preparation is very easy and accessible to everyone. All ingredients are peeled, cored and ground until smooth with a mixer.

Several recipes for healthy smoothies:

  • Orange + grapefruit + lemon. This cocktail promotes weight loss, thanks to the grapefruit in its composition, which is a popular fat burner. A citrus blend can also easily help you regain your strength after a tough day.
  • Grapefruit + apple. Also geared towards weight loss.
  • Orange + ginger + cucumber. Cucumber improves skin color and moisture. Ginger gives a unique taste and helps burn fat.
  • Strawberry + banana + mint + lime. Satisfies the feeling of hunger with a low calorie content. Refreshes well on a hot day

Get out of the drinking diet

As with any other diet, a drinking diet requires that it be properly completed. Withdrawal from the drinking diet should last at least 20 days. Gradually you have to get your stomach used to soft foods, then to cereal, mashed potatoes, and then to solid foods.
